Brief Process

When I first got to know Paula Scher, a female designer, I learned a lot from her works through the process of research and investigation. I bought a book published by her from England, which contains all her works and her own inner journey. This book has given me great inspiration. I can understand her works from her perspective, so that I can make an exhibition catalog belonging to her.

Objectives

The Exhibition catalog mainly expresses her design ideas, from the cover to internal designs throughout the whole book. The style of this catalog can give the audience the personality of Paula.

What

Paula Scher has many works, in the field of design that have a very high status. As for her exhibition, how to intuitively reflect her personality and how to choose her works are all problems I have to face.

Why

I also considered a lot when choosing a designer for my research. But when I saw Scher’s work, I decided this was the one for me. A designer’s thesis may not appeal to you, but once her work catches your eye, you want to know more about her.

How

I have to consider and study step by step to show Scher’s personality and analyze her works. For the design of posters and exhibition catalog covers, I want to catch others’ eyes in a flash, just as her works catch mine. Take the fastest time to get noticed. Especially in the selection of colors, her design elements must be highlighted. My initial idea was to choose CMYK as the main color of my whole catalog. It is not difficult to choose 6 works because there are so many good works that she made in her design history. In addition to the most representative works, I also want to choose some works with the different design style, so as to reflect the diversity of her design style.
